May 17, 2025 – Remembering Lenny WInstanley
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Len Winstanley, a charter member of our beloved Bob Dwyer Fishing Club. Len’s departure comes just months after the loss of his dear wife Marianne, and our hearts go out to his family during this incredibly difficult time.
To our BDFC brothers Peter, PJ, Matt, Danny, Paul, and the entire Winstanley, Snetzo, and Wilson families, please accept our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. We can only imagine the pain and grief you are facing, and we stand with you in spirit.
We will always cherish memories of Len’s humor, his passion for music, and certainly his special affinity for Brook trout. He was a truly great man, and his presence will be deeply missed by our club.
Please join me in keeping the Winstanley family in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.
Rest in peace, Len. Your legacy and memory will live on in our club, and we’ll continue to share stories of your adventures and spirit.

Trophies were presented, and master craftsman Ken Vigiletti shared the prototype fishing nets that he has developed. More to come soon!

October 5, 2023 – Wrapping Up and Looking Ahead
Many BDFC members were unable to make the Fall gathering this year. Those who were there missed those who could not attend and reflected fondly on those who are no longer with us. During the week, Tim Flynn locked up the Ray Williams Trophy with a 20 1/2″ brown trout. Bob Dwyer, Jr. bagged a 14″ brook trout to take the Perry Dimmick Trophy. President, Rob Crowley’s Spring 21″ Pat Grimes Trophy winner held up as a double-winner, also taking the Bob Dwyer Trophy for the largest brown trout taken for the 2023 season. As the 2023 season comes to a close, we look ahead to next year and the opportunity to get together again.
